A Maori woman of Ngati Kahungunu decent and niece to Te Raina Ferris, Shelley was gifted her name Hine-Ipu-Rangi by Aunty Te Raina on her discovery back to her Maori Tanga.
Hineipurangi meaning - Goddess of the Heavenly Vibrations.
Raised with the Yindjibarndi People in outback Australia from a young age she has been on a journey of reconnection and reclamation to her Maori culture.
As a student of Aunty Te Raina's work with the Karanga, Co-Producer to the documentary - 'A Woman's Voice', Shelley is also hostess for Wahine here in Australia building the bridge of sacred knowledge back to her Mother Land Aotearoa, NZ.
Also known as Whaia, of 'Whaia Whaea Creation' Shelley is an eclectic Goddess & Artist at work. Her amazing 'Fearless Feather Adornment' is any woman's 'Sacred Bling'. Whaia walks with her Taonga Puoro & Whanau/Family of Crystal Singing Bowls, offering community healing spaces with deep resonance and awakening.
In 2011 Whaia carved out a 4 year Australian tour with the band 'WHALEDREAMERS' featuring Aboriginal Elder and Kaitiaki of the Whale - Senior Law Man - Bunna Lawrie of the Mirning People, South Australia.
